Canon printers are equiped in very useful function/software that track print cost. They does that thanks to small list of “jobs” saved on device and pc agent that download that information onto pc. Thanks to this approach we have “print history” with all the costs.
Everything look nice, until the software stop to cooperate and for now there is not “fix”.
How the issue look like ?

Currently Cannon Support don’t have idea what is the problem – but we are still waiting.
My little investigation:
- driver/software reinstall didn’t helped
- removing software profile files
- uninstall every ‘canon’ software with deep-clean uninstaller
- factory reset printer
- I manage to sniff packages -> the communication is there and the software ask and receive needed data
- I manage to sniff process -> there is no access/file/security issue
- I change service/directory/profile security settings just in case
- I readded printer via IPv4 and by name
- I disabled IPv6
The funniest part is that everything worked fine from day one until one update (win10 + Canon Accouting Manager)
I’m waiting patient (but I did get information by phone that “the issue is unknown because there is no info about it on internet, so people don’t have this issue” from Canon Technician). The only similar issue I found end up with “connect it via USB” as a “fix”. Sadly I tried to post this issue on official community forum, but got marked as spam and deleted within 10seconds. So that why im writing this down here, for me and You.
